- 摘要: In this dissertation I look at the self-conscious use of physical movement in the modernist theater as a defining element of modernist aesthetics. Drawing on theoretical texts about the theater, dramatic scripts, and relevant philosophical works, I argue that the modernist emphasis on movement destabilizes not only the means of representation but also the very structure and meaning of representation.
