The Cosmati work pavements in Westminster Abbey are very spectacular. The last book on the subject was published in 1991 but there has been a great deal of new work on the pavements since then. The volume is designed to be interdisciplinary with papers by archaeologists, conservators, art historians, a political historian and a literary historian.
