Inspired by her long-time teacher, the Austrian artist Giselbert Hoke, she created the special mixed gouache technique for the often multi-layered depictions. The partly contemplative, partly very moving, gestural images show traces of places, events and encounters the artist has experienced. Maria Beykirch's dance training is also reflected in her oeuvre, which expresses her overwhelming joy in dance. At the same time, the works convey her great longing for calm in meditation. Maria Beykirch lives and works in Munich and in the Chiemgau, where she has already made a name for herself with her exhibitions.
