Instruments played include the marimba ya mkono, a mbira (or thumb piano); zeze kamba moja, a one-string fiddle; zeze kamba kumi, a 12-string fiddle; lilaudi, a trumpet made of 13 gourds; litungi, an 8-string lyre; marimba ya sanduku, a xylophone with 19 notes; and ngoma, a single-sided drum.
