摘要:This video program communicates th challenge and delight of developing the singing voice. The program follows a groupt of young people at voice lessons adn rehearsals, during which students and teachters talk to one another and to the camera, musical selections from a variety of styles adn traditions serve to illustrate basic elements of singing. Premises of the program are that, contrary to popular belief, almost everyone can sing and that proper training is useful not only to those who hope to perform, but also to anytone interested in gaining poise adn self-confidence. Viewers get a step-by-step mini-course in warm-ups posture, breath control, and articulation as well as mental attitude adn artistic interpretation. Lively instructional sequences feature classical, folk, rock, and ethnic selections to provide a solid introduciton to voice technique. Inthe course of lessons, instructors touch on the anatomy of the voice, its ranges, some technical terms, the do's adn don't's of voice maintenance, and, above all, the joys and rewards of singing.
