摘要:The Gardano Music Printing Firms, 1569-1611 offers the first major overview of the prodigious music production during the late Renaissance by the sons of Antonio Gardano, Angelo and Alessandro. The founder of the business, Antonio Gardano, published nearly 500 music books before his death in 1569; yet over the course of the following four decades, Angelo and Alessandro published nearly 1,000. The original archival and bibliographic research included in this book provides a foundation for the examination of the conditions that shaped the family's production and distribution of its vast list of titles.
