摘要:Here is a new approach to evaluating the link between infrastructure development and economic growth. Unlike most other research of its kind, this paper rates infrastructure services as they benefit the public and the environment. It explains why consumer-responsive services not only improve the quality of life but also generate long-term growth throughout the economy. The benefits of sound infrastructure policies on urban development, workers' productivity, public health, poverty reduction, and natural resources are examined. Four lessons gleaned from the research describe what can be done to improve infrastructure policies and investment planning.
