The Texas setting -- The Spanish participation -- Some ramifications.
摘要:Spanish vaqueros from Texas were driving Longhorn cattle to Louisiana and Spanish soldiers from Texas were fighting the British, all which was instrumental in helping American colonists win their War of Independence in 1776. The author vividly portrays the Spanish ranches along the San Antonio River valley including some unusual insights into the lifestyle of some of the Sixteenth Century Texas vaqueros. The appendix includes a roster of the cavalry company of the Royal Presidio of La Bahia del Espiritu Santo.
