摘要:It is now common knowledge that thromboembolic disease is often the earliest manifestation, and one of the most frequent complications, of cancer; and evidence of thromboembolism is seen in up to half of all cancer patients at autopsy. Recent studies have investigated the mechanisms by which cancer causes thrombosis, and emphasized the importance of the coagulation system in angiogenesis and tumor metastasis. It is the purpose of this book to provide comprehensive and timely coverage of our current knowledge of cancer-associated thrombosis, its pathogenesis, clinical features, prevention and therapy. The international contributors to this book, acknowledged specialists in their different disciplines -- hematology, oncology, vascular medicine, pharmacology, internal medicine, and surgery -- have conducted large clinical trials in cancer and thrombosis, and all hematologists, oncologists and physicians involved in the management of cancer patients should find this text of immense value.
