1832/01/27~1898/01/14，本名查爾斯．路德威格．道奇森（Charles Lutwidge Dodgson），英國作家、數學家、邏輯學家及攝影家。終其一生飽受口吃之苦，但優異的天賦仍讓他於1850年進入牛津大學就讀，1854年畢業後於牛津大學執教直至辭世為止。早年寫詩並創作短篇小說，1856年起與牛津大學副校長亨利．李德（Henry Liddell）一家結為摯友，時常帶李德家三姊妹出遊，據傳三姊妹中的愛麗絲．李德（Alice Liddell）即為《愛麗絲夢遊仙境》的靈感來源，1864年此書出版即獲得廣大迴響，至今仍為不朽經典；並於1871年出版續集《愛麗絲鏡中奇遇》（Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There）。
