The application of analytical methods to interpret material remains and to learn about human populations from the distant past to the present has encouraged the collaboration of archaeologists with scientists from a wide range of disciplines. The collaboration has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications, in new lectureships and professorships, in a wider range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses being offered, and even in dedicated funding by research entities"--
