本名柯青華，浙江永嘉人，一九三七年生於上海，一九四七年十歲時由時任北一女中英文老師的父親接來台北，至今已六十六年。著有自傳《漲潮日》，小小說《隱地極短篇》，短篇小說集《幻想的男子》，長篇小說《風中陀螺》，詩集《法式裸睡》、《風雲舞山》，散文集《一日神》、《一棟獨立的台灣房屋及其他》，哲理小品《人啊人》，日記《2002/隱地》以及文學年記《遺忘與備忘》、《朋友都還在嗎？》等四十餘種。 曾獲年度詩獎、年度散文獎。民國五十七年創辦「年度小說選」。2006年，獲聘山東棗莊學院名譽教授。現為爾雅出版社發行人。 隱地的「日記三部曲」，十年前已出版《2002∕隱地》，今年初即將付印《2012∕隱地》，十年後將完成《2022∕隱地》。
